How every unit works

See it. Try it. Build it.

An idea, then an experiment to get a feel for it, then a real circuit that has to pass the checks. Here’s the very first unit, start to finish.

  1. See it:

    The idea, in plain words.

Charge only flows round a complete loop. Break the loop anywhere, and everything in it stops.

Short screens with pictures, then a few quick questions, with a hint whenever an answer is off.
  2. Try it:

    An experiment to play with.

Snip any wire. One gap, anywhere in the loop, and Pip goes dark. Join it again and Pip lights.

  3. Build it:

    A real circuit, checked.

Wire it on the simulator’s board, run it, and pass the challenge’s checks. Here, one missing wire closes the loop.

The Close the loop challenge: a 9 V battery, a 470 ohm resistor and a red LED wired in a loop. The LED is lit at 15 mA and the bar reads: It works! Every check passed.
